About Me

Hello! I’m Jasmine Anna Marley, I am currently a student and a course rep at the University of Portsmouth studying Film Production BA. Born in England in 2001, I am from London and İzmir in Turkey and have been living in London for the majority of my life. I am very proud of my mixed ethnic background as it allows me to see the world from two different cultural perspectives.

The creative arts has always been a big passion of mine, beginning with art as a toddler, then the performing arts from age five. Stage acting got me interested in film and television action and how they are produced and created. I began my film journey in 2016 as a GCSE Media student and since then I have been creating, analysing, and studying films. Now I am the first in my family to attend university despite the obstacles I had to endure, such as being my father’s young carer since 2005.

I have always considered myself a generalist when it comes to film production as most of my previous experience I did all aspect of production, however, I do feel myself leaning towards directing and cinematography.
