I have spent most of my time studying and creating film as a generalist character, but as I continue this path into university, I feel myself being drawn towards certain roles.
Due my background in theatre, I was already comfortable with the idea of directing, as I began by directing and coordinating stage shows on a small scale. Directing allows for a lot of creative control which sounds enticing as a possible career path, however it also sounds like a lot of pressure to have on one’s shoulders.
Cinematography is also an aspect of filmmaking that is interesting to me. The many different techniques in cinematography allows for ordinary things to be shot in fun and unique ways. So to be a camera operator would be something I would enjoy even if I do not have much control, as I find cameras to be very fascinating and I’d love to own a camera soon.
